Choose your event....
The Brutal Events are all set in the stunning surroundings of Snowdonia.
Held over the weekend of the 22nd/23rd September 2012 in Llanberis, North
Wales.
Race registration will be held on Friday afternoon.
All races start at 7am Saturday 22nd.

The Brutal swim will
be held in Lake Padarn, Llanberis, North Wales.
The swim course is a 1.2 mile lap.
The middle distance athletes will complete 1 lap
The long course athletes will complete 2 laps
The double ultra athletes will complete 4 laps
The cut offs are as follows: 1 hour for the middle distance, 2 hours for the
long course and 4 hours for the double ultra. The athlete has to exit over
the timing mat after every lap. There will be an area by the lake entry
to place some nutrition and shoes for the quarter of a mile run back to
transition.
The Brutal bike course
is a 28
mile course which starts from the Electric Mountain transition area.
The middle distance athletes will complete 2 laps
The long course athletes will complete 4 laps
The double ultra athletes will complete 8 laps
There will be an aid station at 14 miles, that will provide
drinks and food.
The cut offs are as follows: 6 hours from swim start for the middle distance,
12 hours from swim start for the long course and 26 hours from swim start
for the double ultra. The middle and long course athletes do not require crew
for the bike course. The double ultra athletes require crew in a vehicle
to support them as soon as dusk is approaching and through the night.
The support crew must not directly follow behind the athlete but ‘daisy
chain’ them and wait in safe parking areas such as laybys and carparks.
(Why you need support)
The Brutal run
consists of 2 sections. The lake lap which is a 5.3 mile lap around the
lake and end with an ascent and descent of Snowdon.
The middle distance athletes will complete x1 lake lap and Snowdon.
The long course athletes will complete x3 lake laps and Snowdon.
The double ultra athletes will complete x8 lake laps and Snowdon.
The run goes through the Electric Mountain transition which will enable
the athletes to get nutrition and support on each lap.
The cut offs are as follows: 12
hours from swim start for the middle distance, 21
hours from swim start for the long course and 42
hours from swim start for the double ultra.
The middle distance athletes are permitted to climb Snowdon without
support (although can take crew if desired) For the long course and double ultra
athletes it is compulsory to have crew for the mountain section.

Our cancelation policy is before 1st March 2012: 75% of entry fee. Before 1st July 2012: 50% of entry fee. On or after 1st July 2012: No Refund
We are raising funds for the Mountain Rescue service.
